Tonight, UFC 205-pound champion Glover Teixeira attempted to make his first title defense against Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 275 in Singapore.
Teixeira (33-7) grabbed the 205-pound belt by submitting Jan Blachowicz in the 2nd round at UFC 268. The Brazilian remained on 6 consecutive victories, including 3 won before the limit.
Procházka (28-3-1) returned for the first time since his victory by KO over Dominick Reyes in May 2021. The Czech therefore arrived on an excellent series of 12 consecutive victories, including 10 by finish.
Round 1:
Glover Teixeira starts the fight by sending a powerful body kick. He manages to register a takedown and settles in side control. Prochazka gets up using the cage, but he is taken to the ground again. The champion scores big nudges on the Czech who is forced to give his back. Teixeira looks for a finalization but the challenger manages to get up before the end of the round.

Round 2:
Jiri scores good jabs while looking to land a hard punch. Both men exchange combinations and Teixeira sends Jiri to the mat. The Brazilian takes the climb and opens his opponent’s arch with heavy elbows.

Round 3:
Jiri Prochazka starts the 3rd round with a good knee to the body. He hits hard Glover Teixeira who collapses on his back after a failed takedown. Jiri asks her to get up. After several unsuccessful attempts at jumping knees, Prochazka scored big lefts. Teixeira is manhandled and fails to send the fight to the ground. At the end of the round, the champion finally finds himself in a climbing position, again scoring good elbows in ground and pound.
Round 4:
Prochazka works the Brazilian to the body and hits him hard. Teixeira scores a takedown and tries to submit Jiri. The latter resists, escapes and takes the climb. Moments later, Glover takes his challenger’s back, but after another transition, the Czech is back uphill.
Round 5:
Teixeira touches Jiri Procházka with a good right before attempting a guillotine. Jiri pulls his head back and escapes. He scores an uppercut and a jab but again cashes in a big right. After a few exchanges, Prochazka seems to be out of breath. Teixeira gets another takedown and goes uphill. Jiri struggles and reverses the situation. It goes through the back of the champion and locks a choke. Teixeira hits just a few seconds from the end, giving victory to his challenger. AND NEW!
