“Stranger Things”: Netflix will open a pop-up store on the Champs-Elysées in Paris

The first half of the fourth season of “Stranger Things”, offered since May 27, made the best start in history for an English-language Netflix series, according to the production and broadcasting platform. With more than 286.79 million hours watched, the show is number one in 83 countries. “Vecna ​​thanks you,” concludes a Facebook post from the streaming giant, referring to the story’s iconic new villain.

We will have to wait until July 1 to discover the next two episodes, which will conclude season 4. But in the meantime, French fans will be spoiled, since an ephemeral shop dedicated to the series will come to Paris on June 24. This “pop-up store”, established on 440 m2, will open all summer at 44, avenue des Champs-Élysées, in Paris (VIIIth arrondissement). The first two days from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., then from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“An immersive experience where the 1980s are in the spotlight”

You no longer need headphones to dance to “Running Up That Hill”, a mythical piece by Kate Bush, brought up to date thanks to season 4 of “Stranger Things”. Because the store will offer total immersion in the series, from the recreation of some of its emblematic locations to the beloved soundtrack of fans.

“This shop Stranger Things will take visitors on a journey through the heart of Hawkins (the imaginary town where the story takes place)will transport them in an immersive experience where the 1980s are in the spotlight”, announced Greg Lombardo, one of the managers of Netflix.

The company had already brilliantly taken up this challenge during its festival at the Cirque d’hiver Bouglione, where the immersion in the past proved to be stunning. She has also previously opened several pop-up stores, for “Stranger Things” in the United States, but also in France, for example during the boxing of the South Korean series “Squid Game”.

In the one that will soon welcome the public in Paris, it will therefore be possible to go shopping in the Starcourt shopping center, which has been shown several times in fiction, or even to play iconic games from the 1980s at the Palace Arcade.

Figurines, cups, clothes, snacks…

Although many products are already on sale on the official Netflix website, some here will be exclusive. Among the best known are the famous Bandai figurines to collect, customizable clothing that will range from 20 to 70 euros, cups, and even the characters’ favorite treats.

“The goal is really to be able to go home with a piece of his favorite series,” says Greg Lombardo. To immortalize his visit to the store, different spaces will be set up to take pictures of himself, such as in Joyce’s iconic house, where the little gang is plotting to save the world.

However, Netflix warns: “The number of places being limited, to access the pop-up store for free and avoid the queue, it will be necessary to reserve a session on the official website of the experience (https://strangerthings- store.com/fr). People showing up without a reservation will be welcome, however.
