Disney+ unveils 2022 series schedule

As Obi-Wan Kenobi soon arrives on our screens, the rest of the Star Wars program for this year 2022 is becoming clearer. When will we be able to discover Andor and The Mandalorian season 3?

Disney+ does withholding information. Like most of its competitors, the platform only shares the release dates of its productions at the very last moment. A way for the studios not to disappoint anyone in the event of a delay in the program. The saga Star Wars no exception, we will even say that Lucasfilm is one of the least talkative studios in the Disney team.

But things are changing a bit as the launch ofObi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+. In a special issue, Vanity Fair unveils the program for the next few months on the platform. Good news, we shouldn’t have to wait too long between each production.

Andor arrives this summer

Among the new crop of Star Wars films, RogueOne is undoubtedly the only one to have completely pulled out of the game. A real critical and commercial success, the first official spin-off has managed to pay homage to the saga of George Lucas while infusing novelty.

Result: Disney + was quick to want to explore in more detail the destiny of this team of renegades. It was Andor Cassian who caught the producers’ attention. The character camped by Diego Luna will have the opportunity to face new antagonists of this prequel.

As a reminder, his character as well as the entire team perished while delivering the plans of the black star. The plot will be located between the third and the fourth opus of the main saga.

According to information from Vanity Fair, the date will be set later this summer. However, we will have to wait for Disney + to give us the precise date to note it in our diaries. One thing is certain, however, the rest between Obi-Wan and Andor will be short-lived.

The Mandalorian season 3 under the tree

After two successful seasons, The Mandalorian does not intend to stop on such a good path. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau will once again bring together Mando and Baby Yoda on screen for new adventures. This new season is quite mysterious, even if an episode of Boba Fett book gave us some food for thought.

While at Luke’s side learning how to harness the Force, Grogu eventually decided to find Din Djarin. Good news: he should not perish at the time of the insurrection of Ben Solo alias Kylo Ren. For his part, Mando could try to restore his image with his people after having removed his helmet in front of witnesses.

In Vanity Fair, we learn that season 3 should be added to the Disney + catalog at the end of this year 2022 or the beginning of the next. The tradition of discovering a Lucasfilm production under the tree will therefore continue.

Ahsoka in 2023

Then, Ahsoka Tano will take over with her first solo series. Heroine of the animated work Star Wars: Clone Wars first appeared in live-action in the final season of The Mandalorian, she is a former disciple of Anakin. The series should also explore this aspect.

We do not know for the moment that few things about this project, except that Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau will be at the head. In the casting, we will find Rosario Dawson in the title role. Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Hayden Christensen will play Sabine Wren and Anakin Skywalker respectively. Ivanna Sakhno and Mary Elizabeth Winstead complete the list.

The Acolyte later in 2023

Finally, we will find The Acolyte later in 2023. In live action, it will be dedicated to a female character from the saga. Leslye Headland will write the screenplay.

This is something to keep aficionados of Star Wars for long hours. Note also that the license intends to return soon to the cinema, but the calendar is however still uncertain.
